After removal of the the chimney stack, the area through which chimney passes to the roof is re-tiled. Later, chimney breast below it is removed. While repointing, we spray the brickwork with water so that the pointing does not dry too soon. Quick drying of the mortar affects the strength og pointing.

Another way of dealing with deteriorating chimney stacks is by lowering the height of the chimney. By doing this, the damaged brickwork will be removed. Further, the vent openings will be capped on either side. The vents are layered with a mortar of sand and cement.
